Chris Hirons

I’m Chris Hirons, a reporter from Fredericksburg, Virginia. Currently, I attend the School of Communication & Digital Media at Virginia Tech and am involved with 3304 Sports — a school-sponsored multi-media program that covers Virginia Tech sports. With 3304, I'm the Editor-in-Chief, responsible for editing and publishing articles from over 20 different writers. During my freshman year of college, I attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and wrote for Syracuse’s independent-student newspaper, The Daily Orange.

Before attending Newhouse and later transferring to Virginia Tech, I covered the Northern Virginia region as a reporter from May 2018 to March 2020 with Potomac Local. There, I covered the Stafford County & Prince William County local governments and the local Minor League baseball team, the Fredericksburg Nationals.
